Air mixing and distributing casing for the air-conditioning of vehicles in which the casing delimits an opening 2 leading, on the one hand, towards at least one heat exchanger 3 and, on the other hand, towards a front ventilation duct 16 and at least one of the side ventilation ducts 17, these ducts also communicating with a chamber 11 of the casing in which the air, having passed through the heat exchanger 3, is brought so as to be led selectively towards the said front ventilation ducts 16 and side ventilation ducts 17 as well as towards a hot outlet 12 and a deicing or demisting duct 14, characterised by at least one deflecting valve 20 located facing the inlet of at least one of the side ventilation ducts 17 arranged laterally with respect to the front ventilation duct and substantially at right angles with respect to the latter, so that the quantity of air having passed through the heat exchanger 3 and entering the side duct or ducts 17 is adjusted depending on the position of the said deflecting valve 20. <IMAGE>
