<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the handling of jam by providing an interlocking means for making the interposingly holding type conveying means of one sheet conveying passage free with respect to a conveying sheet, being interlocked with the opening/closing of the other sheet conveying passage. CONSTITUTION:A sheet from a paper feeding part is sent to an image forming part via a longitudinal sheet conveying passage through between each pair of conveying rollers 55-57 and each driven rollers 61-63 by means of the conveying rollers 55-57. At this time, due to the detection of jam in the longitudinal conveying passage, as one side unit 80 of the conveying passage is separated from a side board 84, the driven rollers 61-63 are made free from driving rollers 55a-57a, while a lever 86 is disengaged from a pushing pin 104 and moved downward by means of spring 89 depressing each driven rollers 55b-57b against a spring 83, to make the pairs of conveying rollers 55-57 free. Then, a handling roller is reversed to return a jammed sheet up to the paper feeding part. Thereby, the handling of jam can be simply carried out.</p> |
