METHOD FOR CRUSHING SEMI-STABILIZED ZIRCONIA

PURPOSE: To efficiently comminute the macroscopic object of metastable zirconia by treating the object with high-temp. water. CONSTITUTION: The crude feed of the zirconia is put into an autoclave chamber and distilled water is added to the autoclave chamber. A pressure chamber is then closed and the crude feed is heat treated for a prescribed time at a prescribed temp. The autoclave is thereafter cooled and gas venting is executed to dry the content. As a result, the comminution of the crude feed is made possible.
