The invention relates to a main sail spacer for the use of a boom with a winder, made from synthetic material, and shaped between the mast and the main sail, consisting of a set of movable elements themselves including three parts. The first two are identical and have a groove in which there slides the main sail bolt rope. The third supports the slides which allow the engagement of the spacer in the groove of the mast and causes the mast to pivot according to the orientation of the boom. All these elements are held and guided by internal ropework. The articulation point is located as close as possible to the mast. <IMAGE>
