Such a device uses a support and sliding set 1 shaped as a continuous strip fixed to the edge or upper border of the blind 2. This strip is made sufficiently flexible that it can be rolled up and sufficiently rigid that it can be inserted in the slot in a rod 4 when it is drawn there, in the direction of closure of the blind, by holding it or gripping it between pressure rollers 9 controlled in rotation. These rollers form an integral part of this device and are positioned at the entry of the rod 4. A rotary roller 11 is positioned nearby at the back of them. This device is particularly applicable to slatted blinds in split bamboo, to plaited blinds and to blinds made of materials used traditionally for standard blinds. <IMAGE>
