PURPOSE:To make the structure simple and small-sized and stabilize the switch temperature by arranging a movable piece made of a superconductor to face multiple contacts and a permanent magnet. CONSTITUTION:A temperature switch has a permanent magnet 101, a movable piece 102 made of a superconductor, and a case 105 made of a nonmagnetic insulator, when the temperature is lower than the superconductivity transition temperature of the superconductor, the movable piece 102 is in the superconductive state, the movable piece 102 is floated up from the permanent magnet 101 by the Meissner's effect and brought into contact with contacts 103 and 104 to short-circuit terminals 106 and 107. When the temperature of the movable piece 102 is increased and becomes higher than the superconductivity transition temperature, the movable piece 102 becomes the ordinarily conductive state, the Meissner's effect disappears, the movable piece 102 is dropped on the permanent magnet 101 due to the gravitational force and separated from the contacts 103 and 104. The temperature switch with the small-sized and simple structure and operating at the fixed temperature is thereby obtained. |
