The device for fixing the tap is noteworthy in that the shank 1.1 of the tap 1 is arranged with a peripheral groove 1.4 so as to receive retention and locking balls, a bush 5, 9 being attached to the member 2 for receiving the tap arranged with a peripheral bearing surface provided with an opening 2.3, 10.2 for the passage of the balls, the said bush comprises an internal bore consituting a bearing surface 5.3, 9.3 on the balls 7 and a shaped internal recess 5.2, 9.2 adjacent to the said bearing surface for receiving and forming a support seat for the balls 7 ejected when mounting or dismounting the tap on or from the receiving member by displacement of the bush counter to an elastic means with respect to the receiving member, a locking and linking snap ring 6 making sure that the socket is held on the said receiving member. <IMAGE>
