PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a glaze resistor composed of microscopic borides and glass by a method wherein the oxide and the boron oxide to be contained in boron-silicate glass are obtained by reducing in a firing process conducted in a non-oxidizing atmosphere using silicon, silicon monoxide, or the highly oxidized precursor of silicon monoxide. CONSTITUTION:No boride is contained in the composition but the boride 4 of very fine particles is obtained by reducing the oxide and the boron oxide to be contained in boron-silicate glass 2 in a firing process conducted in a non-oxidizing atmosphere using silicon 3 and silicon monoxide, and a glaze resistor is formed. As a result, in this resistance composition, sheet resistors of wide range having the sheet resistance of 10kOMEGA/square of above and a low- resistance temperature coefficient can be fired simultaneously, and also, blendable paste can be manufactured. Besides, as the boride of microscopic grain diameter can be formed, surge-resisting characteristics can also be improved.
|
