In a device for working workpieces by magnetoabrasive grinding and polishing using a ferromagnetic abrasive, which is brought into a magnetic field and performs a relative movement in relation to the workpiece to be worked, the abrasive surrounds one end of a rod-shaped abrasive carrier made of a magnetisable material. The abrasive carrier is set into a relative movement to the workpiece via a drive unit and is situated in the magnetic field of a current-carrying coil. The device is particularly suitable for precision-grinding and deburring inner regions in workpieces, into which the end of the abrasive carrier surrounded by the abrasive plunges.
