PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness and to improve the efficiency, by constructing a supersonic motor such that primary resonant frequencies of radial vibration and torsional vibration match each other. CONSTITUTION:A stator is manufactured by preparing a piezoelectric ceramic block 11 and providing polarization metallic electrode films 12 on two facing surfaces thereof. Polarization electrode terminals 13 is taken out from the electrode film 12 then high DC voltage is applied between the terminals so as to polarize the block 11 in the direction of an arrow. Thereafter, the block 11 is machined into a column 14 and two sets of facing metallic electrode films 15, 16 are formed around the column 14. The electrodes 15, 16 are applied respectively in parallel and normal with/to polarization by a length of about half that of the column. Consequently, the stator can be driven with double mode of radial vibration and torsional vibration with a large amplitude. |
