PURPOSE:To ensure that a fragrance is continually or momentarily emitted from a transfer recording paper printed by thermal transfer printing, with incorporation of a perfume into a heat-fusible ink layer. CONSTITUTION:This thermal transfer medium coprises a heat-fusible ink layer 2 on a base 1, and the ink layer 2 comprises a perfume. The perfume is provided in the state of being dispersed or dissolved in a heat-fusible ink, or is provided in microcapsules which are dispersed. The ink is transferred onto a transfer recording paper by thermal energy supplied from a thermal head 4, when the fragrance of the perfume is momentarily intensified. After the transferring onto the paper 5, the ink layer 2 is exposed on the surface, so that the fragrance is persistently emitted, and the paper thus printed is persistently fragrant. An overcoat layer 3 prevents the perfume from being vaporized off and provides the transfer medium with a perfume retention property. |
