Traversing devices with a straight thread guide (1) are used to guide threads to and fro. The thread guide is moved to and fro by a linear drive. Usually, the thread guide must be uncoupled from the linear drive in the regions of traverse reversal and its kinetic energy must be dissipated and the energy for the return motion applied. To dispense with the dissipation of energy and uncoupling, the thread guide is connected to the linear drive through a coupling member restrictedly guided in the traverse reversal regions between two reversing guides (8, 9) and is driven at the traversing speed. The coupling member (10) can be linear and shorter than twice the smallest traverse length. The coupling member has a sliding block (14) which engages in the sliding slot (13). It can also have a roller (23) which is driven in the traverse reversing regions by a rotating drive surface.
|
