PURPOSE:To contrive higher variety and preservability of recorded images by using a coloring matter for a recording material represented by a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:A coloring matter for a recording material is represented by formula (I), wherein each of A and B is independently formula (II) (R<1> is an alkyl or benzyl) or formula (III) (R<2> is a substd. or unsubstd. amino or alkoxyl, and R<3> is an alkyl or alkoxyl), and X is 1,4-bipbenylene, 4,4-stilbenylene or 4',4''-1,4-distylylbenzenylene. The coloring matter can be used effectively for a pressure-sensitive recording paper or thermal recording paper using an oxidation-reduction reaction or a UV-sensitive material used in combination with an organic halogen compound, e.g., a dry film resist for forming a printed circuit or a germicidal lamp damping indicator. Images recorded are enhanced in variety of hues and in air oxidation resistance during preservation. |
