PURPOSE:To prevent seizure or binding in a brake friction member and a vapor lock, etc., by prohibiting any braking operation when brake operating frequency becomes more than setting value, in the case of traction control which operates a brake at the time of driving slip detection. CONSTITUTION:In the case of traction control which operates a brake upon receiving a signal out of a driving slip detecting means detecting a driving slip of a wheel and prevents the slip from occurring, brake operating frequency is detected by a braking frequency detecting means, and when the frequency becomes more than the setting value, any brake operation is prohibited. Such a situation that a friction member of the brake is seized, and a vapor lock or the like occurs whereby the brake becomes unable to work any longer is prevented from occurring. In this connection, if not only the brake operation is prohibited but also engine output is lowered at the same time, yet more accurate traction control is performable in this way.
