A method for measuring and displaying the occupancy of a parking space in car parks is characterised by the fact that the space above the parking space acts as a physical component with respect to the formation and propagation of physical oscillations, so that by leaving a motor vehicle in the parking space, exactly this component is changed and this change is measured and displayed. The display device can cover a plurality of parking spaces.
