Method for monitoring the reliable mode of operation and for the early detection of damage in complicated technical systems

With the aim of increased operational reliability and an economically improved mode of operation by means of an early detection of damage which offers more effective prevention in the case of complicated technical systems, a monitoring arrangement and a monitoring method are proposed with reference to the example of a nuclear power station. In this case, measured vibration data are determined using various sensors. The signals determined for the individual measurements points are decomposed in their spectrum of vibration frequencies, from this there are determined and selected frequency ranges and/or combinations which are determined from the frequency spectrum thus resolved and are specifically relevant to a state response or perturbation response of the individual structural components, and changes in these spectral frequency ranges are compared with respect both to their frequency value and to their amplitude and/or discriminant (e.g. in the form of a measure of similarity, possibly mathematically formulated, of the frequency distribution) with reference characteristics which are to be assigned in a predetermined fashion and are processed to form a signal specific to the monitoring. <IMAGE>
