The invention relates to an energy-management chain having single-part link plates (5) which, for the purpose of their articulated connection, have an integrally formed plate (6) at one end and an integrally formed pot (7) at the other end, towards the opposite side, plate (6) and pot (7) of adjacent link plates (5) being insertable one into the other and a connecting member for plate (6) and pot (7) as well as stop surfaces (16, 17) being provided. It is intended that said energy-management chain is able to withstand even high articulation loadings and be cost-effectively manufactured and mounted. For this purpose, undercut grooves (9, 10) are provided in plate (6) and pot (7), which grooves intersect the pivot axis (S) of plate (6) and pot (7) and into which there may be inserted a connecting member (14) which always completely fills the grooves (9, 10) in a cross-section running through the pivot axis (S) and which exhibits stops (15', 15'', 18', 18'') which interact with the side walls (16, 17) of the grooves (9, 10). <IMAGE>
