The invention relates to a component or assembly support (1) which can be arranged in a switching cabinet. A front panel (7) is provided on its front, while it is provided with a mounting bracket (10) on each of its sides. Its one supporting limb (14) is fitted on the support (1), while the other mounting limb (17) projects away to the side in the region of the front panel. The mounting limb (17) is used for anchoring the support on a holder (23) of the switching cabinet and at the same time forms a shutter running in a plane with the front panel (7). The mounting brackets can be fixed on the support (1) at the sides in a second installation position, in which the mounting limbs (17) are located on the rear (29) of the support. At the same time, in this position, an additional shutter (31) which is provided on the supporting limb (14) produces a direct connection to the front panel (7). <IMAGE>
