<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in absorption rate of water and degree of swelling and useful as a water-stopping material, a sealing material, a water-retentive material or the like, by using an isocyanate-terminated urethane prepolymer, a nonionic surfactant and a highly water-absorptive resin as essential components. CONSTITUTION:99-65wt.% water-swellable isocyanate group-terminated urethane prepolymer (A) obtained by reacting a polyalkylene oxide with an organic polyisocyanate is mixed with 0.2-25wt.% nonionic surfactant (B) and 0.8-10wt.% highly water-absorptive resin (C) such as a saponified vinyl acetate/ acrylate copolymer or a crosslinked modified isobutylene/maleic anhydride copolymer of water absorptivity >=20g/g and a mean particle diameter <=30mu, and the resulting mixture is foamed and cured.</p> |
