<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the reliability of a contact from deteriorating due to oxidation, metallic fatigue, etc., by providing a part of one connector with a built-in light emitting element while providing a part of the other connector with a light receiving element for receiving the light emitted by the light emitting element. CONSTITUTION:When connection pine 2a, 2b of one connector part B1 are inserted into connection jacks 1a, 1b of the other connector pert A1, a window 1 of one connector part comes into close contact with the other connector part window 2. When an infrared rays light emitting diode LED1 emits infrared rays, a phototransistor PT1 works. As the signal transmission medium is the infrared rays, the response characteristic is rapid. Also, because of the contactless connection, the phototransistor PT1 works securely even in the case of a connection error between the connection pis 2a, 2b and the connection jacks 1a, 1b. This provides a connector excellent in reliability.</p> |
