PURPOSE:To transfer plural hot billets to a fixed bed by pressing down and clamping them, by installing two press-clamping arms, which turn opposingly to each other through a bracket, to the lower surface of a beam moving vertically and horizontally, and installing fixed press-holding arms facing downward, between the two press-clamping arms. CONSTITUTION:Two rolled hot-billets 21 are paired and fed onto a transfer 22 at prescribed intervals, and are stopped when they reach a prescribed positions. On the other hand, a transfering device 10 is lowered by a overhead crane to its terminal position, where the bottom ends of press-clamping arms 3, 3 are oppositely located at the lower ends of respective side surfaces of the billets 21, and fixed press-holding arms 8, 8 are located on the upper surface of the billets 21. Next, the two billets 21 are simultaneously clamped by the clamping parts of the arms 3, 3 by actuating a double-acting double cylinder 6. Then the billets 21 are lifted, together the device 10, by the crane, and are transferred to a fixed bed 12 by moving them horizontally. Further, the billets 21, 23 transferred onto the bed 12 are wadded to the side of a stopper 13 by a pusher head 16. |
