PURPOSE:To contrive a higher property for thermal transfer onto a base sheet surface poor in wettability and achieve easy and satisfactory pressure-sensitive transfer of a transfer image onto an object of transfer, by causing an ink layer to comprise a coloring agent, a binder agent comprising a wax having a specified physical property as a main constituent and a pressure-sensitive adhesive. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer 12 is provided on one side of a film-shaped ribbon base 11, and a transferable conditioning layer 13 is provided thereon in a predetermined thickness. The ink layer 12 comprises a coloring agent, a binder agent and a pressure-sensitive adhesive as main constituents. The binder agent comprises 8 wax, which comprises one or more petroleum waxes, and a tackifier. At least 80wt.% of the wax is constituted of a wax having a penetration at 55 deg.C of not more than 50. When a transfer image is thermally printed on a base sheet poor in surface wettability by use of this ink ribbon 10, a favorable image can be printed, due to a rise in the heat-softening temperature of the ink layer. |
