PURPOSE:To enable short-time processing and to obtain an image having a high max. density and low min. density by executing a development processing by using a color developing soln. contg. an N-hydroxyalkyl-substd. p-phenylene diamine deriv. in the presence of a specific compd. CONSTITUTION:The development processing is executed by using the color developing soln. contg. the N-hydroxyalkyl-substd. p-phenylene diamine deriv. in the presence of the compd. expressed by the formula I and/or the formula II. In the formulas I, II, Q denotes an atom. group necessary for forming a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle; Q' denotes an atom. group necessary for forming a 5- or 6-membered heterocycle capable of forming imino silver; Y denotes a bivalent combination group consisting of a hydrogen atom., carbon atom., etc.; R denotes an org. group contg. at least one of a thioether group, amino group, etc.; M denotes a hydrogen atom., alkali metal atom., etc. The direct positive image having the high max. density and the low min. density is thus obtd. by the short-time processing. |
