PURPOSE:To efficiently print a candidate word by correction even if the number of characters of the candidate word is larger than those of an incorrect word, by printing characters on a printing medium by correction with both or one of a print space between characters and blank space between character strings reduced within a range of stored characters, when correction printing is performed on a substitution character string. CONSTITUTION:When a comparison means M5 in a control means M4 decides that the number of characters ot a substituting character string is larger than those of a substituted character string, a space control means M6 in the control means M4 controls a printing means M1 to print characters on a print medium by correction. With one or both of a print space between characters and a blank space between character strings reduced within a range of character data stored in storage M2. Thus, this method does not affect subsequent characters and provide an accurate character string substitution. |
