<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the damage of a tape by allowing the program searching point (queue-up point) of the tape to be fluctuated within a prescribed range at a waiting time in reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The feeding means 15-17 of a magnetic tape 1 feed the magnetic tape 1 based on the comparison output of a comparison means 26 until the comparison input of the comparison means 26 coincides, and a tape position where the comparison input coincides is set as the program searching point. In other words, at the time of program searching, the program searching position of the tape 1 is set nonuniformly so that a tracking position dispersed by a random number RND more than a regular queue-up point can coincide with the program searching position of the tape 1. Therefore, it follows that the tracks to be scanned by a rotary head at fluctuated in a reproducing pause mode by the program searching. In such a way, it is possible to reduce the damage of the tape 1 and to extend its service life.</p> |
