PURPOSE:To improve the matching performance with scanning processing of a page with less storage capacity by processing layout information of a mixed mode document into a table at first and storing it, scanning the table so as to expand the document information into a picture element information for each scanning line. CONSTITUTION:At first, layout information is read by a layout processing means 14, an area attribute included in the layout information is decoded and each area attribute is registered by the 3rd storage means 12 as a layout table. In such a case, the layout table is generated for each page of the mixed mode document and each are is assigned virtually on the said one page. In scanning sequentially the virtual one page sequentially, the state of layout of each area in the scanning direction of the page is checked and the document information is read from the 2nd storage means 13 according to the result and subject to expansion processing into a picture element image for each scanning line. Thus, the required storage capacity is reduced and the matching performance with the scanning processing of the page is improved. |
