APPLICATION OF SIGN AND/OR MARK TO GLASSES LENS

PURPOSE: To form a decorative trademark which can be identified but does not interfere with user's sight by irradiating the surface of a lens of glasses with excimer laser beams through a mask having the shape of a symbol/mark as a notch. CONSTITUTION: Parallel beams 12 radiated from a laser 11 are projected to the mask 13. A large part of the laser beams is suppressed by the mask 13 and laser beams corresponding only to an area corresponding to the shape of a required symbol/mark are transmitted through the mask 13 and applied to the surface 16o of a lens 16 of glasses and the shape of the required symbol/ mark is slightly peeled from the surface 16o. Consequently the sufficiently effective visibility of the symbol/mark can be attained and the symbol/mark is formed so as not to interfere with user with glasses.
