PURPOSE:To obtain a vibration-damping composition free from odor and stickiness and suitable for the vibration-damping treatment of an apparatus such as automobile or in the field of building, by compounding an ethylene-acrylate copolymer, an inorganic filler and, as necessary, a tackifier resin, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 10-89wt.% of an asphalt produced by solvent-deasphalting process (e.g. asphalt of propane-deasphalting process) and having a softening point of 40-90 deg.C with (B) 1-50wt.% of an ethylene-acrylate copolymer having an acrylate content of 1-50wt.% and a melt index of 0.5-400 and (C) 10-80wt.% of an inorganic filler (e.g. calcium carbonate). As an alternative, the composition is produced by compounding 10-87wt.% of A, 1-50wt.% of B, 10-80wt.% of C and (D) 0.01-30wt.% of a tackifier resin and/or a higher fatty acid. |
