Construction components with a modified locking system.

A construction component has a plurality of male and female lock assemblies for engagement with female and male lock assemblies of a similar construction component for locking the two components together. Each of the male lock assemblies includes a rigid pin which is reciprocable with respect to the component between an advanced position and a retracted position, whilst each female lock assembly defines a socket opening and includes a lock for locking a pin in the socket opening. Both the male and female lock assemblies comprise reactive shear bearing formations integrally adjoined to their respective bodies and projecting and receiving generally horizontally for interengagement when their respective lock assembly is mated with a lock assembly of the opposite gender of another such construction component and defining respective opposed shear bearing surfaces for transmitting shear forces transverse to the pin member independently of the pin member.
