CONSTITUTION:In the event of machining a coaxial hole into a cylindrical work by means of electric discharge machining or the like, a work 3 is set to a holder 2 and rotated together with the holder 2 as centering on a rotary shaft 15. The amount of surface displacement of the work 3 is detected by a first sensor 46, then the amount of eccentricity between an axial center of the work 3 and the rotary shaft 15 is detected and the amount of said eccentricity is compensated by a first XY driving mechanism 8. Next, the amount of eccentricity between the axial center of a tool 34 and the rotary shaft 15 is detected out of the amount of surface displacement of the tool 34 by a second sensor 47 attached to the supporter 11, and the position of the rotary shaft 15 is compensated by a second XY driving mechanism 16, thus axial centers of the tool and the work are conformed.
