PURPOSE:To improve operational efficiency by using two gears having the different numbers of teeth to change the feed speed of a cutter fitted to the end of a revolving shaft-like body from high speed to very low feed speed. CONSTITUTION:Gears 3 and 4 and a cylindrical body 6 are rotatably mounted on a shaft 2. The gear 3 can be externally braked through an adjuster 12. The gears 3 and 4 are different in their numbers of teeth and installed on the shaft 2 in a state that they are partially brought in contact with each other. As the brake to the gear 3 is released, the cylindrical body 6 rotates in company with the shaft 2 thereby enabling rapid feeding of a cutter. When the cutter is brought in contact with a workpiece, the brake is applied to the gear 3, resulting in a very low feed speed of the cutter. |
