PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material which does not damage the transparency of a thermal layer even if a water drop sticks to a recording surface, by allowing a thermal layer to contain a hardener of a given weight % in dry weight. CONSTITUTION:A hardener is used to prevent a transparent thermal layer material from becoming opaque by a water drop. The hardener should be selected according the type of a polymer used for the thermal layer and is preferably dialdehydes such as gultar aldehyde and 2,3-dihidroxy 1,4-dioxane or bonic acid. The amount of the hardener to be added is 1-10wt.% of the weight of the thermal layer and can be adjusted according to an application method or a desired hardness. If the amount is less than 0.1wt.% a hardening effect is insufficient, and if more than 10wt.% a thermal effect and image density decrease to also produce an unsatisfactory effect. The thermal recording material is hardly damaged due to improved damage-resistance of the thermal layer, and provides good work efficiency for handling. |
