<p>The present invention is directed to compounds for administration to animals as anabolic agents to increase growth rate having the formula (I) <CHEM> wherein R1 is hydrogen, or a lower alkyl; R2 is hydrogen, or an alkyl; R3 is keto, hydroxyl, ketal, or an ester; and R4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, amino, or hydroxyl. Such compounds are relatively non-hormonal and possess little anti-microbial activity.</p> |
