Battery terminal adaptor apparatus (2) for a vehicle battery (4) comprises a first and second terminal adaptors (10, 12) for the positive and negative battery terminals (6, 8), the terminal adaptors (10, 12) each comprising a connector portion (14) for connecting to the battery terminal (6, 8) and a terminal portion (16) for connecting to a vehicle lead terminal (18) on a vehicle electrical lead (20), the connector portion (14) being a complementary fit to the battery terminal (6, 8), the terminal portion (16) being a complementary fit to the vehicle lead terminal (18), and the connector portion (14) being shaped differently to the terminal portion (16) such that these portions connect in different ways. For a flat battery terminal (6, 8), the connector portion (14) is flat and apertured to receive a nut and bolt (24); the terminal portion (16) is frustoconical to receive a lead clamp (18). For a frustoconical battery terminal, the connector portion is a clamp and the terminal portion is an apertured flat plate.
