PURPOSE:To prevent metal mold from breaking in the case of honeycomb extru sion molding, by forming a part of many holes of zirconia of high strength and the slit part of zirconia of high toughness. CONSTITUTION:A number of holes 4 are made in a regular arrangement in the same depth on the entering face 2 of the mold 1 for honeycomb extrusion molding, and on the outlet face 3 opposite to the opening face of the hole 4, a number of slits 5 penetrating the hole bottom 4a of the hole are made crosswisely. When honeycomb is extrusion molded, body is injected in the hole 4 on the entering face 2, a honeycomb is formed to be injected from the outlet face 3 through the slit 5 communicating with the hole 4. The part having many holes in the mold 1 is made of zirconia of high strength, and the part of the slit is made of zirconia of high toughness, this construction controls stress concentration in extrusion molding and prevents the metal mold body form breaking. |
