<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the energy charge which occupies the greater part of a sewage treatment cost and to reduce the sewage treatment cost by continuously running an air compressor for producing aeration air for a sewage treatment plant under the rated capacity by night electric power to form compressed air and once storing this compressed air, then using the same for aeration. CONSTITUTION:The air compressor 15 is continuously run under the rated capacity by the night electric power 17 in the state of holding a valve 16 on open to an air pipe 12 side to form the compressed air. After this compressed air is once stored in a storage tank 10, the operation of the air compressor 15 is stopped. The valve 16 is the switched to an aeration tank 14 side and the compressed air in the storage tank 10 is extracted for use in the aeration treatment of sewage. The replenishment of the compressed air which is consumed and the aeration treatment are alternately repeated from this point on. The energy charge is reduced and the sewage treatment cost is reduced by aerating the sewage in such a manner.</p> |
