<p>PURPOSE:To surely prevent propagation of collected microorganisms without deteriorating the dust collection performance of the conventional air filter by kneading an antibacterial agent into an electret filter and using an air cleaner provided with such electret filter. CONSTITUTION:An antibacterial electret filter 8 is obtained by impressing high voltage to PP fiber incorporated with an antibacterial agent (e.g. thiabendazole) not less than at least 1% in such a state that the PP fiber is heated and is made to be a thermal electret. Plural discharge wires 2 and parallel flat plate electrodes 3 are provided to the upstream side of the antibacterial electret filter 8 and also a network electrode 4 is provided to the downstream side of the filter 8. Further, DC high voltage is impressed between the discharge wires 2 and the electrodes 3 and between the discharge wires 2 and the network electrode 4 from a DC high-voltage electric source 5. In other words, while maintaining dust collection performance of a conventional air filter device, propagation of collected microorganisms can be more surely prevented when incorporating the filter 8 into an air cleaner and using it.</p> |
