<p>Fine particles smaller than 50 nm, which serve as nuclei for the generation of PM (particulate matter) to be discharged from an internal combustion engine, are removed to thereby reduce the number of PM particles to be discharged. A high-efficiency filter is disposed in the feed passage for supplying fluids, i.e., intake air, a fuel, an engine oil, etc., to the combustion chambers, whereby fine particles smaller than 50 nm and serving as nuclei for PM generation are removed.</p> |
