PURPOSE:To automatically segment necessary image data by comparing red image data with a fixed format image data in a message comparison processing means, and segmenting an image by means of an image segmenting processing means. CONSTITUTION:An image reader 1 reads the image of an area that includes an image 8, and the data is stored in a read image data memory 2. Then, the fixed format image data 3 of a sheet 6 having no image data 8 drawn on it that has been preliminarily read and the image data 2 currently read are compared with each other. Similar comparison processings are executed while moving the fixed image vertically and horizontally, to decide a position where the data coincide with each other most frequently. Among the read image data 2, the data which coincides with the fixed format image data 3 in said position is cleared. In such a way, the image 8 can be segmented. |
