<p>PURPOSE:To enable power generation damping operation to be smoothly executed in safety, by connecting a resistor and a switchgear in series between terminals on the DC side of a rectifier for rectifying the output of an AC generator, and by closing the switchgear at the time of the starting of damping. CONSTITUTION:When a brake pedal is stepped on in an electric rolling stock under running, then a contactor 12, a switchgear 11, and a contactor 9 are closed in order, and to the field winding 3 of an AC generator, exciting current according to he stepping-on degree of the brake pedal is permitted to flow. In this case, by the induced voltage of armatures 5a, 5b, damping current is permitted to flow to damping resistors 8a, 8b, and power generation is damped. Before the contactor 9 is closed, the switchgear 11 is closed, and so diversion current flows to a resistor 10 as rush current, and the residual voltage of the AC generator 2 is quickly attenuated. Accordingly, a device can be set in a power generation damping operation state smoothly and in safety.</p> |
