PURPOSE:To obtain a terminal number, to identify a terminal equipment and to directly monitor a terminal identification number on a line by executing an inverse arithmetic operation of an operation executed by the terminal equipment concerning two sequences received from a line by a host computer and taking one of inverse arithmetic operation results. CONSTITUTION:A host computer 1, a line multiplexing device 2 and terminal equipments 4-6 connected to an exchanging network 3 constitute an on-line system and the communication of the computer 1 with one of the equipments 4-6 can be attained by the switching function of the exchanging network 3. The two sequences are inputted to arithmetic operation means 42, 52 and 62 of the respective equipments 4-6 and the arithmetic operation is executed with a specified algorithm and they are sent to the exchanging network 3. The sequences outputted by the equipments 4-6 are received by a host CPU 11 and the inverse arithmetic operation of the received sequences by an inverse arithmetic operation means 13, the terminal identification numbers of the equipments 4-6 by the inverse arithmetic operation result and the equipments 4-6 are identified by the numbers. |
