PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of an abnormal sound inputted by a player's careless operation or the like by applying a sound generation starting instruction to a sound source device only when both the maximum and minimum peak values of an input waveform signal exceed respective prescribed judgement references. CONSTITUTION: The sound generation control device is provided with a peak value detection means for detecting the maximum and minimum peak values of an input waveform signal and a judgement means for outputting a trigger signal when both the maximum and minimum peak values of an input waveform signal exceed respective prescribed judgement references. Only when both the maximum and minimum peak values of an input waveform signal exceed respective prescribed judgement references, a sound generation starting instruction is applied to the sound source device. Consequently an electronic instrument capable of preventing the generation of an electronic sound offensive to the ear which is not intended by a player can be formed. |
