<p>PURPOSE:To obtain high distance resolving power at a long distance, by allowing the light from the object to be measured at a long distance and the light from the object to be measured at a short distance to be incident on respectively different light receiving areas as light spots to output respective photocurrents from the signal take-out electrodes of the respective light receiving areas. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary light receiving areas 520, 52n+1 are formed to both outermost ends of a semiconductor position detector. The signal lights allowed to irradiate said auxiliary light receiving areas 520, 52n+1 are photoelectrically converted and the photocurrent obtained from a signal take-out electrode 55b0 or 55a0 are added to the photocurrent obtained from a signal take-out electrode 55b1 or 55an by an adder circuit and, thereafter, the operation due to an analogue divider is executed. By this method, distance resolving power is improved in both long and short distance parts.</p> |
