PURPOSE:To obtain an electric iron plate which is free from offensive malodor at a time for welding and excellent in various characteristics such as abrasion resistance and chemical resistance by allowing an iron plate substrate to be applied with treatment liquid in which vinyl propionate/acrylic resin emulsion and an organic reducing agent are mixed with a bichromate-base aq. soln. and thereafter baking it. CONSTITUTION:A bichromate-base aq. soln. contg. one or more kinds of bivalent metal is blended with the rate of both 5-120% expressed in terms of resin solid component of vinyl propionate resin emulsion contg. 3-30% acrylic-base resin as organic resin and 10-60% organic reducing agent for 100pts.wt. CrO3 incorporated in the above-mentioned aq. soln. An electric iron plate having an electrical insulating film is produced by allowing the surface of the iron plate substrate to be applied with this treatment liquid and baking it by an ordinary method. Further, the applying build-up of the above-mentioned film is desirably regulated to 0.2-6g per 1m<2> unit area of the iron plate substrate. |
