PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic oxide material useful as a superconducting material without containing substances toxic to human bodies, by containing V, O and specific two kinds of atoms or atomic groups. CONSTITUTION:An oxide (e.g. V2O5) containing V is blended with an oxide (e.g. La2O3) containing a lanthanoid based element or Y and an oxide (e.g. CaCO3) containing a group IIa element of the periodic table and the resultant blend is calcined in an oxygen-containing atmosphere to afford the aimed metallic oxide material, having a composition expressed by the formula (A is lanthanoid or Y; B is group IIa element of the periodic table; 0.03<=x<=0.6; 0.6<=y<=1.4; 0<=z<=0.5) and capable of exhibiting 10<-4>-10<-1>OMEGAcm electrical resistance at ambient temperature and a superconducting state at about several-10K temperature. |
