PURPOSE:To simplify the driving of the cooling fan and to increase the cooling effect of a radiator by a method wherein a ring gear is formed on the outer peripheral edge of each of vanes of the cooling fan so as to cause the ring gear to engage a cell gear formed on the outer periphery of a flywheel. CONSTITUTION:A self-starting gear 7 is formed integral with the outer periphery of the flywheel 6 fixed to the crank shaft 5 of the engine 1 and engages a pinion gear of the self-starting motor 4. In this case, the ring gear 11 for driving the cooling fan is formed integral with the outer peripheral edge of each of the vanes 10 extending radially from a boss 12 of the radiator cooling fan 9 and is caused to engage the self-starting gear 7 so that the rotary power generated by the crank shaft 5 is transmitted to the vanes 10. As a consequence, the cooling fan is driven by the transmission of power through the above mentioned gears and therefore, it is possible to dispense with the displacement of a power transmission belt and to supply cool air efficiently to the whole of the radiator 3. |
