PURPOSE: To make it possible to quickly handle a cassette without damaging a film by oscillating the cassette after reading out data from a memory so as to return it to an original position. CONSTITUTION: A cassette 1 inserted into a reading station 6 is almost straight penetrated through the station 6. However the cassete 1 is held at an initial position, moved downward by a prescribed distance, catched by a known positioning and taking-out device, and after taking out a film by opening it, closed again. Then the cassette is carried on a transfer route up to a 2nd position and catched by a 2nd positioning and taking-out device which is the same sort as the 1st positioning and taking-out device. In the 2nd device, the cassette is positioned, opened, and after recharging a film processed by another route, closed again and ejected from an ejection slit 6g as a usable cassette. Consequently the film is not damaged.
