PURPOSE:To increase welding efficiency and to improve productivity of the titled pipe by forming a metal band tubularly and projecting laser beams at the same time from two directions of the exterior and interior of an interface of its butt part to perform welding. CONSTITUTION:The laser beams B1 and B2 are projected on the interface to be welded at the same time from the two directions of the pipe interior and the pipe exterior to divide the laser beam output into two. By this method, since the laser beam output projected from its one direction is halved, metallic vapor plasma generated in its cavity is also halved and the influence to the laser beam is restrained. Accordingly, in the case of the same welding speed and the same wall-thickness, the laser beam output can be reduced and in addition, when the laser beam output and the wall-thickness are the same, the welding speed can be increased. |
