PURPOSE:To reduce a cost through simplification of a mechanism and to shorten a non-cutting time, by providing a main spindle mounted transferable column and a plurality of forward, backward movable pallets, and a clamping device to secure the pallets in a forward and backward movement positions. CONSTITUTION:One pallet 21 is secured in a machining region, while machining of a placed work is effected, other pallet 22 the work replacement preparing work of which is completed is moved forward, and is secured in a machining region in a manner to arrange it in juxtaposition with the pallet 21 under machining. Therefore, only in a time in which a column 3 is moved, transfer to machining of the other pallet 22 from that of the one pallet 21 can take place. During machining of the one pallet 21, the other pallet 22 machining of which is completed is moved backward to the outside of a machining region, and after replacement of a work, the pallet is secured as a next machining pallet in a machining region. This constitution enables continuance of alternate machining without stopping movement of a spindle, eliminates a stop time of a machine, and permits improvement of a ratio of an actual cutting time. |
