<p>PURPOSE:To completely prevent the breakage of pipe by monitoring the set shape of the pipe under water by a method in which supersonic waves from a supersonic wave transmitter set on a pipe are received by three supersonic waves receivers to calculate the three-dimensional coordinate position of the transmitter. CONSTITUTION:A supersonic wave-receivers 7 to be set on the apex of a triangle at a given interval on the ship's bottom and a number of supersonic wave-transmitters 6 to be set over the whole area of a flexible pipe 1 set in water from the hull 2 for sending supersonic waves to the receivers 7 are provided. A distance calculator 12 to calculate the distance between the transmitter 6 and the receiver 7 on the basis of supersonic waves propagation time, a coordinate position calculator 13 to calculate three-dimensional coordinate positions of the transmitters 6 on the basis of the three-dimensional coordinate positions data of the receivers 7, and a displayer 15 to display the shape of the pipe on the basis of these data are provided to make up a shape monitor.</p> |
